Ingrowing Toenail Removal under Local Anaesthesia
Following an assessment, this is the surgical removal of part of the nail that is ingrowing under local anaesthesia. In most cases, that section of the nail is prevented from growing back by using a chemical called Sodium Hydroxide, applied at the time. During the assessment, all aspects of the procedure are discussed and agreed with the patient. The total removal of a whole nail can also be carried out, under local anaesthesia, if deemed necessary.
